Who is Trooper James Casey?

With only a few hours remaining until Live Pd airs and the Live PD twitterverse erupts, I would like to take a moment to ask, who is Trooper James Casey? And why is he such a BIG deal?

Well let me explain....

In Arizona on Oct 8, 2014, DPS Trooper Casey was conducting a traffic stop, when the driver of a vehicle pulled out a .357 Magnum revolver, and shot him in the face. After that some would have walked away from the job. But not Trooper Casey.

In an interview, with Bob Dunn of The Berkshire Eagle's located in Pittsfield, Mass., Trooper Casey said "I did not want him to beat me, so I did everything I could to return". Trooper Casey was in a fight for his life, and the road to recovery was going to be a long process.

18 months and 17 surgeries later... Trooper Casey returned back to full duty.

As I continue to read the article, Trooper Casey stated, "I did not want him to end my career. I wanted to end my career on my own terms. I'm glad to be back at work, I LOVE this job" (Cue the tears). Most will over look those words and say, so what? But to read those words from Trooper Casey, and watching him on Live PD, you can see the passion he brings to the table while working.

Trooper James Casey is beloved, praised, and supported by his family, former and current co-workers, as well as the nation. The nation came to know him, through his appearances on A&E's Live PD. Which has elevated Trooper James Casey's status from an Arizona DPS officer to a nation wide celebrity. So much so that the nation has renamed Trooper James Casey to Super Trooper James Casey with his own hashtag #TrooperCasey and #SuperTrooperJamesCasey, in the twitter world.

So what does the twitterverse have to say about, being able to see Trooper James Casey LIVE in studio with Dan Abrams and Tom Morris Jr, this weekend?

Well, the Live PD tweeters, are just as excited about this weekends show, as they are every show, because Trooper James Casey will be in the building.

I was able to reach out to Trooper Lee, who is the PIO (Public Information Officer) for Arizona DPS, and he is just as excited, as everyone else, including the Col. of Arizona DPS, Frank Milstead, about Trooper Casey guest hosting this weekend.

In my opinion, it goes without saying, we are all anxiously waiting for Friday and Saturday.

Dear Trooper Casey, if you are reading this blog, I would personally like to extend the most humblest Thank You, for fighting. Thank you for not giving up. Thank you for your passion and LOVE for this job.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Your compassion and your will to survive, does not go unnoticed. I salute you Trooper James Casey.

Trooper James Casey is a true definition of a Hero.

That's all for now... thanks for reading, stay tuned for another Blogging with Marcy....

  1. If perhaps, we could have 1 million more police officers out of the same mold as OfficerJames Casey, America would truly be great again!

And because of law enforcement personnel like him, there is no doubt in my mind that I can freely be Able to thank him in the name of all who live in the free world and United States of America.
